Hi, I’m the Sourdough Slayer.
A little about me…
I’m a farmer’s daughter, the daughter of a Mexican immigrant, and someone who has always felt a deep connection to the land and the people who work it.
I grew up around agriculture, where food wasn’t just something you bought at a store. It was something you grew, worked for, shared, and gathered around. My Mexican roots also taught me early on that food has a way of bringing people together. Some of the best moments happen around a table, with something good to eat and people you love.
That connection to land and food eventually led me into the wine world, where I’ve had the chance to work with growers, winemakers, and people who are deeply passionate about where their food and wine come from. I’ve always loved that sense of place, the hands behind what we consume, and the stories that come with it.
And then there’s bread.
I’ve always believed in the simple idea of breaking bread with your neighbors. There’s something special about sharing something you made with your own hands and watching it bring people together.
Sourdough Slayer grew out of all of that. It’s my love of baking, my agricultural roots, my connection to the land, and my belief that food can create community, all rolled into one.
So when you pick up a loaf from Sourdough Slayer, I hope it feels like more than just bread. I hope it feels a little like breaking bread with a neighbor.
